Members of Anthrax, Alkaline Trio, Every Time I Die and Fall Out Boy form The Damned Things
The band The Damned Things will release a new album, High Crimes , on April 26th. The supergroup is formed by members of Anthrax, Every Time I Die , and Fall Out Boy . They confirmed the addition of bassist Dan Andriano from Alkaline Trio . He will replace Josh Newton (Every Time I Die). Guitarist Rob Caggiano also left the band.
Guitarist Joe Trohman – who is also part of Fall Out Boy – spoke about the band's return in an interview. “Originally, the plan was to release an EP. But then it got to the point where we made a full album. The more we did, the more we said, 'okay, let's do this.' I hate using the term 'organically' because it's a shitty word, but it happened organically. [laughs]”
He added: “Honestly, I’ve been sitting with these demos for almost two years and I still haven’t gotten tired of them. I really like these songs. It’s the first time I’ve listened to an album that I don’t think I have to change everything.”
Trohman said he wrote the album without overthinking it. "Hopefully, the mindset was to make the record sound good, without too much fuss, it would be the rawest version possible. I thought the last album was kind of superficial in its production. I want to improve that," he added.
