Damiano David , vocalist of Måneskin , appeared on The Allison Hagendorf Show and was asked about solo projects.

The musician responded ( via Blabbermouth ): “Why not? I think it can be a very healthy and very destructive thing. The only thing that matters is how you fit in with the band, because the band will always be what gave me everything I have. And if I ever have the chance to do a solo project, I have to keep in mind that it’s thanks to everything I did with the band. That’s my foundation. That’s where I come from. That’s where I developed as an artist.”

David also spoke about the importance of "commitment" in being in a band: "Everything is a commitment, and it's wonderful because four brains have more creativity than just one brain."

“But at the same time, I think there comes a point where each artist should do what they want, like saying: 'This is me. And this is what I would do if I were alone, if everything was about me and I thought about myself.' And I also think, like, if I do a solo project tomorrow, I think that will help people understand more about the band because I'm one of the four elements of the band,” explains the vocalist.

He continues: “So if you see my complete universe, you can see my influences in the band and see what doesn’t come from me. And actually, by getting to know me better, you’ll get to know the other three [members] better. So I think it’s very interesting. And I really hope that one day we can all do a solo project for a year and then come back together with new ideas, new stimuli.”

Måneskin

Måneskin, who recently released their album Rush! (2023) and won the VMA for “Best Rock Video”, received praise from Mick Jagger .

The Rolling Stones , in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Serra , said: “Today it surprises me that the biggest rock band in the world is Italian. [It's] those Måneskin who opened a show on their tour in Las Vegas two years ago: strange, isn't it?”
