Måneskin started out playing on the streets of Rome, gained national prominence after standing out on X Factor , and conquered the world after winning Eurovision 2021. From there, the Italian band established itself as one of the strongest names in contemporary rock, and, at the same time, became the target of much criticism.

Damiano David , the band's vocalist, believes that these criticisms arose along with the band's meteoric rise. For him, the real problem was never their Italian nationality, but rather the path they took to achieve success.

From X Factor to global acclaim.

Lipps Service podcast ( transcribed by Rádio Rock ), Damiano commented that the label of "reality show band" was what fueled the initial rejection. "I don't think they hated us for being Italian. That even helped. But because we did X Factor and Eurovision, many judged us as television products. That generated prejudice," he stated.

The vocalist made it clear, however, that he does not regret his career path. For him, the programs were useful tools, not an artistic prison.

Despite resistance from some of the public and critics, Måneskin continued to break barriers. The band recorded successful albums, toured the world, and filled arenas, proving that it wasn't just a passing fad. Damiano believes the group knew how to transform exposure into a fan base and artistic consistency: "We always saw these platforms as a springboard, not an end in themselves."

Damiano David's solo career gains momentum with new album.

While Måneskin maintains its position among the biggest names in rock today, Damiano David is also investing in his solo career. The singer recently released the album FUNNY little FEARS , which has been acclaimed by both the public and critics.

The album marks a new creative phase for Damiano, showcasing artistic maturity without abandoning the energy that has won him fans around the world.
