The musician was one of the founders of the band.

Scott Mitchell Putesky, known as Daisy Berkowitz, died at age 49.

The former guitarist and founder of the band Marilyn Manson battled cancer for four years.

Putesky was responsible for some of the most important guitar sounds in the band's career, such as "Sweet Dreams," "Lunchbox," and "Cake and Sodomy," and participated in their first albums, Portrait of An American Family and Smells Like Children.

The guitarist left the band in 1996 after a creative difference during the songwriting process for Antichrist Superstar and went on to participate in Jack Off Jill, Godhead, and his own band, Three Ton Gate.
