Capivara's Rock Bar, in Ponta Grossa, was the stage for an unforgettable night for extreme metal fans last Tuesday, the 8th. Three great bands, Paradise In Flames , Allen Key , and Crypta , ignited the audience with performances that alternated between intensity, technique, and energy from beginning to end. The event was part of the national tour In The Other Side Tour – Brazil 2025 , which celebrates Crypta's five years on the road.
Paradise In Flames
The evening began promptly at 7:30 PM with Paradise In Flames, a band from Minas Gerais that quickly established a dark and captivating atmosphere. Combining symphonic elements and intense vocals, the band rapidly won over the audience. Tracks from their most recent album stood out and drew enthusiastic applause. Throughout the performance, interaction with the audience was constant, making the atmosphere even more intimate and welcoming.
Furthermore, the alternation between guttural and melodic vocals showcased the talent of each member, alternating between aggressive and more melancholic passages. In this way, Paradise In Flames opened the night raising expectations for what was yet to come.
Allen Key
Next, Allen Key took to the stage, bringing a modern and contagious energy. From the start, the band delivered heavy riffs and catchy choruses, further energizing the crowd. Soon, vocalist Karina Menascé drew attention with her powerful performance, interacting extensively with the audience between songs.
The rest of the band kept up the fast pace, ensuring the audience didn't stop for a single minute. With songs like the classic "Granted" and their latest release "Get in Line," Allen Key confirmed why they're growing so much in the national scene. With each song, the connection with the fans only grew stronger.
Crypta
Around 9:45 PM, the audience demanded it, and Crypta finally took the stage, greeted with loud cheers. The current tour lineup, featuring Fernanda Lira (bass and vocals), Tainá Bergamaschi , Helena Nagagata (guitars), and Luana Dametto (drums), showcased their power from the very first chord of "The Other Side of Anger."
As soon as they started, it became clear why they are considered a benchmark in Brazilian death metal. The setlist included songs from the albums Echoes of the Soul (2021) and Shades Of Sorrow (2023), as well as surprises for the local fans. With mosh pits, headbanging, and choruses sung along to, the audience responded with great energy.
Despite technical difficulties with Luana Dametto's drumming shortly before "Under the Black Wings," Fernanda Lira took the opportunity to interact with the audience, and the problem was quickly resolved with shouts of "Luana, Luana!!" from the crowd.
Beyond the technical performance, Fernanda interacted with the fans, celebrating the band's anniversary and thanking them for the special night. Tainá, Helena, and Luana also shone with solos and fills, reinforcing the group's high level. Finally, highly anticipated classics like "From the Ashes" closed the show, leaving a celebratory atmosphere in the air.
A historic night
In the end, it became clear that Brazilian extreme metal is still going strong. The event reinforced the strength of the scene and proved the importance of independent venues for the growth of the genre. Those who attended Capivara's Rock Bar left with the certainty of having experienced a unique moment, filled with heavy music, emotion, and lots of positive energy.
