UPDATE (April 8th at 3:26 PM): The band has already raised the necessary amount to cover the losses from the accident.
Crypta is asking for donations to cover damages to their tour bus in a tornado accident in the United States.
A tornado devastated the Apollo Theater in Illinois on Friday night, May 1st, shortly after Crypta's show and before Morbid Angel's performance. According to Blabbermouth , the roof of the venue collapsed, killing one person and injuring twenty-eight others – five of them seriously.
According to Blabbermouth , Belvidere Fire Chief Shawn Schadle said they received a tornado warning just 10 minutes before the roof of the Apollo Theater collapsed.
On Instagram, Fernanda Lira appears in a video asking fans for help to raise $60,000 in 15 days to buy a new tour bus. Currently, to continue the tour, the group is renting a car.
"As we suspected, dealing with insurance and claims has many pitfalls, and there's a very high chance things will get complicated for us," they wrote in the video caption.
"It's not going to be as easy as we thought it would be; we'll even have to hire lawyers to try and resolve our situation. We're being advised in the best way possible, but because we're not American citizens, apparently we're not entitled to some state compensation, which further complicates our problem."
In short, if everything goes wrong (and there's a huge chance it will), in 15 days we'll have to pay for a new RV from the company we rented it from, which will be around $60,000, not counting the lawyers' fees we'll have to pay during the process.
We know it's a high amount that we probably won't reach, but at this moment, any help and any amount will greatly assist in reducing the financial damage we will suffer.
We try our best to avoid having to ask you for help, but at the moment, it's impossible for us to cover these costs using only the band's funds.
