Latin American fans, especially Brazilians, are known by artists and bands worldwide as the most passionate and loud. For Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil , this fanaticism has both positive and negative aspects.
The Italian band has already performed 17 shows in Brazil, the second most visited country in Latin America by the group, followed by Mexico, with 12 performances, according to data from the SetlistFM . In an interview with Wikimetal in 2012 , the vocalist of the Italian band analyzed the good and bad aspects of this fervent dedication.
“[The audience] is fanatical, good and bad. The wonderful thing is that the South American audience is very warm, they make a mess, they sing, they jump, they dance, and it's great for an artist,” he commented. “However, in the same way, they are also very closed-minded; if they prefer one musical genre, everything else is rubbish. And, conversely, this doesn't happen much in other places like England, the United States, and the rest of Europe, for example. They are much more closed off to one category.”
