On the morning of Thursday, January 16th, Cristiano Fusco , founder and former guitarist of Torture Squad . The musician, who was 53 years old, was also a member of the thrash metal band Distort (via Roadie Crew ).

Fusco had been battling bone marrow cancer for years and had tried several different treatments that ultimately weakened his body.

The musician founded Torture Squad in 1990 and remained with the group until 2002. There, he recorded the first three albums: Shivering (1998), Asylum of Shadows (1999) and The Unholy Spell (2001), as well as the EP A Soul in Hell (1993).

After his departure, Mauricio Nogueira replaced him. He stayed until 2008 when Augusto Lopes took over and remained in the position until 2011. The group also included André Evaristo between 2011-2015, and now, Rene Simionato .

In 2005, he founded Distort alongside Marcelo Dirceu , bassist and original vocalist of Torture Squad. The project only released one album: Terror Against Greed (2008).
