The musician has been attending some of the project's shows.

Craig Goldy spoke with Classic Rock Revisited about the shows performed by the hologram of Ronnie James Dio, his former bandmate.

Goldy began playing with Dio in 1986 during the Sacred Heart when guitarist Vivian Campbell was fired following numerous disagreements with the vocalist. In recent years, Goldy has accompanied Dio Disciples on sporadic shows.

Speaking about the hologram, the guitarist said that playing alongside him is "surreal and heartbreaking, while at the same time it's incredible to play again to the sound of his voice."

The musician also reveals that the work is a way for Wendy Dio, the vocalist's wife and manager, to give a gift to her new fans who never had the opportunity to see him live.

“I hope that the future of Classic Rock is what I’m trying to do with my new album, and that holograms are only for musicians that fans really miss. Holograms are the future only in that scenario.”

The new project Goldy referred to was Dream Child, formed by Wayne Findlay (guitar and keyboards), Simon Wright (drums), Rudy Sarzo (bass), and Diego Valdez (vocals).
