Dani Filth , lead singer of the band Cradle Of Filth , spoke about the song he collaborated on with pop singer Ed Sheeran .
In an interview with the YouTube channel Pełna Kulturka , the musician explained ( via Blabbermouth ): “One of the surprises, obviously, but it’s not really a surprise, is that we have a song on which Ed Sheeran is a guest.”
Filth said that everyone who heard the track loved it: "It sounds like Ed Sheeran, it sounds like Cradle Of Filth."
“There’s an explosive beat to it. I think the album will surprise a lot of people. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the album will be commercial. It’s a very heavy record. We’ve raised the bar as a band. We’ve taken a step forward towards the future compared to our previous album.”
He said the first single will likely be available between September and October.
Launch featuring Ed Sheeran
Bring Me The Horizon participated in a cover of Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits," bringing a different interpretation. Dani Filth listened to the track: "They decided to do this after we started working [with Ed]. Because we actually made the song with Ed over a year ago."
“And before that, the idea came about after 'Bad Habits,' the album. So, about two and a half years have passed, and it will probably take three and a half years before anyone actually hears the music.”
Dani Filth understands that Ed Sheeran is "one of the greatest artists in the world" and understands that he has to respect certain rules: "He's a lovely guy – don't get me wrong – but his management, obviously, has their own interests at heart."
The band wants the pop icon to participate in the music video, but "I think he's going to take a whole year off this year." The group will release the single next year, but this will not impact the rest of the album.
