Courtney Love is working on her first album in over 10 years and promises to make up for the wait for the successor to Hole Nobody's Daughter (2010) with quality, as she has already demonstrated in her Bruises of Roses cover series on YouTube.
“I don’t make many records, so who knows when I’ll finish this next one. I have all these new songs, but I need four more to complete an album, so I’m working on them,” she said in an interview with Vogue . “I haven’t made a record in 10 years, so every song counts, you know? But they’re all – and I’ll just say it – outrageously good.”
During the isolation period, Courtney experienced health difficulties and nearly died from severe anemia , but she regained the strength to continue with the new project.
“Finally I’m able to reflect on what I want to do and who I want to be in order to record things that are at my real level. And I haven’t been at my own level for a long time. I’ve had to recover from all sorts of things, but finally I feel like myself again,” she continued. “I’m totally here, totally embodied and in the moment, talking to you. And I haven’t been like this for many, many years. I’m having fun, existing without having to use substances and learning to love music again. So, I would say that’s the tone of the new music.”.
