Courtney Love praises Miley Cyrus' cover of "Doll Parts" and reveals the story behind the track; watch.

“It was my way of saying, ‘You’re a fucking idiot if you don’t choose ME, and here’s all the desire and rage and love I feel for you…’”, she says

Last week, singer Miley Cyrus surprised the world again by sharing a cover of Hole ." And now, vocalist Courtney Love has spoken about the cover and even revealed the story behind the work.

On her Instagram, Love described the cover as a “sweet version,” and said she was “touched” by the tribute. The artist also shared behind-the-scenes footage of the track, posting a video in which Kurt Cobain stated that she was the “best fuck in the world,” and although it seemed vulgar to say, she was positively embarrassed. She then elaborated on the story, “'Doll Parts' is a tribute I wrote in 20 minutes in the bathroom of a girl named Joyce in Cambridge, Massachusetts [in the United States]. I had to write most of the lyrics on my arm with a pen when I ran out of paper. People were banging on the door while I was writing.”

“It was about a boy, his band had just left town, who I was sleeping with, and I heard he was sleeping with two other girls too, it was my way of saying 'You're a fucking idiot if you don't choose ME, and here's all the desire and rage and love I feel for you…'. Good songs aren't born in 20 minutes but the force was strong and it came out. Anyway, I married that guy,” she concludes, referring, of course, to Kurt Cobain.
