Courtney Love denies possible Hole reunion: "Eric is literally becoming a monk."

Despite constant indications that the band might be preparing new material, Courtney Love gave a definitive answer regarding the possibility

Something went wrong along the way. In 2019, Courtney Love used her Instagram to post a photo of Hole rehearsing in the studio and responded to some comments hinting that a possible band reunion could happen at some point.

In 2020, the singer said in an interview with NME that she was learning to play guitar and confirmed that she had done a session with bassist Melissa Auf der Maur and drummer Patty Schemel , further increasing hopes and expectations for new material, including from the band.

In 2021, however, Courtney Love is telling a completely different story; and she doesn't seem happy about it at all. In a recent interview with Vogue , the singer gave a definitive answer when asked about a possible Hole reunion: “No, absolutely not. And you need to get over it. Our former manager, Peter Mensch , calls once a year to ask about a reunion. And I feel very flattered to be part of that company, but it's simply not going to happen.”

Courtney also spoke about her relationship with her bandmates. “We’re all good friends and Melissa and I are especially close – we talk every day. But Eric [ Erlandson ] is kind of off the radar at the moment – I think he’s in Japan literally becoming a monk. I’m not even kidding. Melissa, Patty and I think he’s become a monk or something to that level of asceticism.”
