A couple from Texas, in the United States, left their eleven-year-old daughter alone at home to attend a metal concert in Detroit, Michigan.
John Guerrero, 48, and his wife, Virginia Yearnd, 39, were arrested on Monday, the 27th, when they returned to Houston after attending a concert by Godflesh , one of the pioneers of industrial metal.
According to the Houston Chronicle , they traveled on Wednesday the 22nd, and police found the girl alone at home after her great-aunt called to report the incident. Police then contacted the couple, who lied, saying they were in Louisiana, but Yearnd eventually revealed the truth.
The mother claimed she asked her sister to take care of her daughter, but for reasons unknown to the press, this did not happen. The couple could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison, as in the state of Texas, a relative or caregiver of a minor under 15 years of age can be imprisoned for endangering the child.
The British band Godflesh rarely performs in the United States, and in recent months has played very few shows in the country.
