With the acceleration of the vaccination process in much of the world, live concerts and cultural events are starting to be scheduled. In the United States, where many rock and metal festivals are already getting dates for this year, some shows are being offered for free in order to understand if the pandemic is under control.
Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and several members of the live events industry held a press conference last Friday, the 14th, to discuss the return of concerts to the American city. "After a challenging year, Denver's arts organizations are once again open for business and ready to welcome people back," Hancock said in a statement reproduced by 9News.Com.
The mayor said the city will update its mask rules to align with those announced by Colorado Governor Jared Polis , which allow vaccinated individuals to forgo wearing masks in most settings.
In the state of Virginia, the city of Suffolk announced a series of concerts titled TGIF 2021 that will take place every Friday during the American summer. Authorities say the events will be held in city parks and will feature all the standard festival infrastructure: food and drink vendors, and other types of commerce. Park capacity will be limited to one thousand people.
In the UK, nightlife will resume from June 21st. Some shows will be monitored, and all attendees will need to be tested before entering the venue and again five days later. The aim is to test whether the vaccination is working.
A survey by the website Poder360 listed the main musical concerts starting in May 2021, with the United States and European countries hosting the majority of major shows that year. In the United States alone, there will be at least 12 performances. See them here.
