The band posted a statement
Corrosion Of Conformity bassist Reed Mullin has been removed from the band's upcoming tour dates with Clutch and Lamb Of God. See the posted statement below:
“Last night in Edmonton, Alberta, COC drummer Reed Mullin collapsed just as we were about to go on stage. This was due to prolonged, extreme, and unhealthy levels of alcohol consumption, not taking care of himself, and who knows what else. Reed has been unwell for some time, and we are praying that he gets the help he needs and seeks treatment for alcohol and drug addiction, as well as general life assistance. This tragic event is very similar to what happened in Pittsburgh a few years ago when Reed collapsed just as we were about to go on stage as a trio, also opening for Clutch. On both occasions, there were concerns about Reed's well-being and appearance. That incident resulted in five canceled shows. Then years go by, and we're back in the same place with the same avoidable tragedy. This time we are leaving Reed with the experienced doctors in Edmonton and continuing with the help of Jean Paul Gaster [Clutch] and Chris Adler [Lamb Of God], who quickly learned some things.” Music. The show went on and will go on, but we will no longer allow Reed to continue killing himself under our supervision. Again, we ask that you pray for Reed and understand our problem. We wish everyone the best and hope Reed gets help – With a heavy heart, Mike Dean”
