Last Monday, the 21st, Corinthians paid tribute to Paul Di'Anno , who passed away that same day at the age of 66. Iron Maiden vocalist adopted the club as his team in Brazil and was associated with Gaviões da Fiel, the organized fan group.
"Sport Club Corinthians Paulista regrets the death of Paul Di'Anno, former vocalist of the band Iron Maiden, at the age of 66. Paul leaves behind his children, two of whom were born in Brazil. He was a Corinthians fan and performed numerous times around the world wearing the Timão jersey," Corinthians posted.
“'I'm from the East End of London, like the favela there, and I have sympathy for Corinthians. The first time I saw Corinthians play was on TV, they had Sócrates,' he said in an interview with TV Cultura. Corinthians joins the fans, family and friends in this moment of mourning,” the club recalled.
The musician was even seen occasionally at games when he spent longer periods in the country. D'iAnno considered Brazil his "second home".

Health problems
Di'Anno's health problems are nothing new. In 2015, the musician suffered from sepsis, which permanently impacted his life, as he became more vulnerable to illness.
Another issue concerns the fact that he had been in a wheelchair for years. With knee problems, the musician had a number of difficulties related to movement and constant pain.
In 2023, he was in Brazil for an extended period, performing in various cities across the country, and the alarming situation of the vocalist, who had been performing in a wheelchair for quite some time, became evident.
