In an interview with the Hard Drive program, Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor spoke about the possibility of Slipknot starting work on their next album without him. Taylor recently released the album "Hydrograd" with Stone Sour and is currently touring with the band.

Taylor referred to comments made by his bandmate Shawn 'Clown' Crahan, who earlier this month said that Slipknot wouldn't wait for the vocalist to start the new album:

“I think they're going to call me. Apparently, as Clown told the press, things are moving forward without Corey Taylor. Thanks for that, Clown! I heard you loud and clear. You have my number. I don't know what the problem is.”

But everything's fine. He loves being part of the songwriting process, he always has. He and Jim [Root, guitarist] have always written very well together. The best part is that when the time comes, I'll know and I'll get to hear what they have.

It's cool to hear things for the first time, to hear things I know I've never heard before. I'm excited, let's see how it goes.
