Lead singer talks about missing Paul Gray and Joey Jordison

In an interview with Ultimate Guitar, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor commented on the lineup changes for the band's new album. Scheduled for release next year, the new Slipknot album will be their first since the death of bassist Paul Gray and the departure of drummer Joey Jordison.

“The way I’ve learned to look at things is to think that no great band can stay together with the same people. Basically, we have to do our best to fill the void that’s been left .” Taylor took the opportunity during the interview to praise the songwriting of guitarist Jim Root, now responsible for Slipknot’s lyrics.

Corey Taylor, however, dodged questions about the reason for Jordison's departure : "I honestly, legally, can't talk about that. That's all I can say ." In January, Jordison stated that he was surprised by his departure and that he would never have left the band, but to this day Taylor has not explained what happened.
