Corey Taylor talks about Jordison's departure.

The vocalist still hasn't given any reason.

Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor gave his first interview since drummer Joey Jordison left the band this weekend. Speaking to an American radio station, Taylor said the reasons for the departure cannot yet be revealed.

“Honestly, I can’t talk about it right now. It’s still very recent and there are a lot of things going on behind the scenes that people don’t know. So legally and out of respect, I can’t say much. I can confirm that we are no longer with Joey and as soon as we can say something, we will. We are trying to protect him and protect ourselves as well, making sure we are doing everything right, because that’s what they would expect from us and what we expect from the fans. I know they are anxious, but I can’t talk now. It’s really bad for us because we’ve always prided ourselves on being honest with everyone. But there’s nothing to be said right now. It’s difficult, but if people can bear it, we will explain as soon as possible.”

Regarding Slipknot's next album , Taylor said that Jordison hadn't written any material yet. "He's only working with Scar The Martyr, so the material we have is what the rest of us had written."
