In an interview with Vice, Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor revealed that he has had a number of stalkers throughout his career. Taylor explained that this happens because of the lyrics in his songs:
"That's not a lie. I've realized that what I sing and the lyrics I sing attract a kind of schizophrenia and cause some people to stop taking their medication and focus on me. It's very strange. I've experienced a lot of that in recent years. Fortunately, nothing too intense.".
When asked how he deals with this type of harassment, Taylor said:
“The only thing I can do is report it. I make sure things are done the right way, I try to get them the help they need. That’s the main thing – making sure they get the help they need. The stalkers I had who weren’t affected by illnesses, it was more of a social media thing. They created several different profiles to attack and defend me. It was really very strange. And it still happens. It comes and goes, and I still haven’t figured out who it is. It’s hard to deal with, it makes me a more closed-off person, which is difficult to do because of the times we live in, when everything I do is part of social media.”.
