Slipknot's vocalist commented on the possibility of a solo album.
Over the years, Corey Taylor has performed in several solo shows called Corey Taylor and Friends . He has only released one solo song, however, and is now "seriously considering" recording a solo album.
In an interview with Eddie Trunk, the Slipknot and Stone Sour revealed the potential for a solo project. "I've really been seriously thinking about doing a solo album and a tour," he said, explaining that the project isn't an immediate plan. "Obviously, it's not going to happen for a while."
Dividing his time between bands and being a songwriter, the idea of going solo has weighed heavily on Taylor. "Honestly, it's something I didn't consider for a long time until people started bombarding me with questions about it, asking when I would do it," he explained.
The project, then, should happen sometime in the future, given that Slipknot just released We Are Not Your Kind . “So, yeah, probably 2021,” he predicted. “I’m actually going to put together a band. I’ve already told the guys from Stone Sour and Slipknot that I’m going to do it. And, yeah, I’ll start working on a solo album.”
