Corey Taylor says Slipknot plans to release a new album in 2019.

Slipknot's new album will be released in 2019

Slipknot plans to release their next studio album in 2019, according to vocalist Corey Taylor.

In an interview with Billboard, Taylor said: “The guys are writing tons of music and I’ve written lyrics for almost everything and we’re going to start putting together demos here and there with the free time I have. I know we’re going to try to release the album next year […], we’ll see what happens.”

Despite still being on tour with Stone Sour, Taylor said he has already started brainstorming lyrics, adding that the material will be mostly autobiographical.

Asked by Musik Universe if he had heard any of the music Crahan writes with the other Slipknot members, Taylor replied: “Yes, I’ve been listening. It’s amazing! That’s all I’m going to say about it. It’s everything I wanted it to be.” Regarding the lyrics, Taylor explained: “It’s really dark. It’s probably the most autobiographical thing I’ve done in years. Just because I’ve been through a lot in the last few years.”

Slipknot's tour in support of their latest album ended in November 2016. Corey Taylor is preparing to embark on a new series of shows with Stone Sour in the United States, in support of the band's sixth album, Hydrograd .
