Corey Taylor , frontman of Slipknot , has signed a global deal with BMG to release his second solo album CMFT2 , which is expected sometime in 2023. This information comes from Billboard .

“I wanted to work with BMG because they were super keen to work with me, and they’ve kept the fire burning for rock, punk, and metal in recent years,” Taylor told Billboard . The album will be released on the singer’s label, Decibel Cooper.

Thomas Scherer, president of repertoire and marketing at BMG Los Angeles and New York, also commented on the news: “We were completely blown away after hearing Corey’s new album. His music is absolutely brilliant with matching marketing skills. It’s an honor to partner with such an inspiring artist and entrepreneur as Corey Taylor and expand his vision globally.”

Taylor told Billboard that she will also use her label to release music from other artists, explaining: “Decibel Cooper will not only allow me to release my own music and art worldwide, but it will also give me a solid way to help bolster any radical new acts that I want to put on the roster. BMG will help me put into practice what I want to do – giving a boost to the next generation.”

Corey Taylor began recording CMFT2 in January with longtime producer Jay Ruston , who has previously worked with Steel Panther and Anthrax , among others.

In an interview with NME , Corey Taylor said that this album will be "the best rock album of this year and next year".

“I can’t wait for people to hear this album. It chews up that first album and spits it out. It’s more connected to everything people expect from me, so it has elements of CMFT , but also Slipknot , Stone Sour , and all the things I did in my acoustic shows. It has something for everyone. People are going to go crazy,” he said in the interview.
