Corey Taylor announced that Stone Sour has gone on an indefinite hiatus. The revelation was made during the podcast The Green Room with Neil Griffiths.

“I feel like Stone Sour has completed its cycle,” he said, “We all talked and decided to put Stone Sour on indefinite hiatus. That’s how it goes. We’ve put the band on the shelf now. Everyone’s kind of doing their own projects now.”

In June of this year, Taylor had already hinted that the group would be going on hiatus, saying, "If we ever want to come back and do some things, it will be bigger than it already was. But for now, we're focusing on other things. But you never say never in this industry."

While Stone Sour goes on hiatus and Slipknot is at home due to the pandemic, Corey Taylor is preparing his first solo album and will soon begin working on his second . As soon as possible, when it is safe, the musician said he will go on tour to promote both albums.
