“It has become increasingly difficult to do this,” Taylor said
frontman Corey Taylor has spoken about the possibility of the band continuing without him if he decides to quit.
The masked band is preparing to release their sixth studio album, We Are Not Your Kind . The band has struggled throughout their 20 years together, experiencing the death of bassist Paul Gray , the departure of drummer Joey Jordison , and a falling out with percussionist Chris Fehn .
Now, Taylor is pondering the band's future if he decides to retire.
“I mean, it’s crossed my mind as time goes by,” he said. “It’s been getting harder and harder to do this. You think about when it will end. Nobody thought we’d be doing this 20 years later.”
"If I could no longer do it, I would stop, but that doesn't mean the band would stop. If I can't do it anymore, someone else could do it in my place.".
He continued: “I thought about this before: if the right person came along and the guys were willing, I would just leave. We can't hurt anyone.”.
