During a radio program, vocalist Corey Taylor revealed that the members of Nickelback apologized for comments made by their vocalist Chad Kroeger, who referred to Stone Sour as "Nickelback light" (read his full comments here
Taylor said that the members (with the exception of Kroeger) called to apologize:
“This goes to show what kind of ego we’re dealing with. I said this from day one. It’s not the rest of the band. The other guys came. As soon as the story happened, the band called me to apologize. They were like, ‘That wasn’t us. We promised. It’s this guy, not us…’ And we’ve hung out together, these guys are super cool. So I knew it wouldn’t have been them. I don’t want people to have anything against the band, because it’s not them. It’s Captain Ego from the planet of idiots.”
