Griffin Taylor joined his father on vocals for "Song #3" during a performance in Portugal.
Corey Taylor , along with his band Stone Sour , was joined by his son Griffin Taylor to sing the song "Song #3" during a set in Lisbon, Portugal. Fan-made footage can be seen below.
Before the song began, Corey had declared: “I have something very special for you. We only did this once, and it was one of the best nights of my life. So, I invite my son, Griffin Taylor, to the stage. Griffin will help us with the next song. And we'll do our best, won't we?” The performance he referred to took place in July 2017 at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey.
On radio station 102.9 The Hog, Corey recounted the experience of sharing the stage with his son in New Jersey, stating: “We hadn’t even rehearsed on stage with him. He and I just played acoustically backstage . He was 14 years old at the time. At that age, not only could he have had low adrenaline, but he could have fainted. But it was the opposite, he was super into it. And he even had the presence of running around the stage, rocking out, and in the end, he jumped on my speaker and took a selfie with the audience.”
“Not in a million years would I have imagined this. I’d never felt that kind of pride in my life, man. I was like, ‘Oh, you caught the Taylor curse now, man. You’re screwed.’ [laughs]”
He commented, “In half a second, I was on stage playing guitar, and I was really just doing backup on the chorus and stuff. But a million things went through my head. I saw him as a kid, on his first day of school, struggling and trying to understand who he is. Suddenly – boom! – he’s there. And I was like, ‘Wow!’”
Taylor divorced Scarlett Stone in early 2007. He married his second wife, Stephanie Luby, in November 2009 in Las Vegas, at the Pearl Theatre complex in The Palms hotel. The frontman confirmed in December 2017 that he had separated from Stephanie almost a year prior and had recently begun a new relationship with Alicia Dove, a professional dancer and member of the dance group Cherry Bombs.
