Corey Taylor has once again commented on a possible retirement from touring within a few years due to physical health problems.

In June, the Slipknot estimated that he would have about "five years to continue touring" due to the grueling pace of travel and the quality of life he finds on the road.

“I try to take care of myself. I go to the gym whenever I can,” she commented at the time. “The trips [in Europe] are exhausting; the food is awful; so it’s difficult. But as long as I can, I want to keep doing this.”

Health problems cause Corey Taylor "constant pain".

Recently, in an interview with Rock Feed , Corey Taylor once again commented on his difficulty in touring and revealed that he is almost always suffering from "constant pain" due to health problems.

“It’s my knees and my feet,” she explains. “I have a broken big toe on one foot. I have gout around my feet and that ends up affecting my joints… It’s difficult. I’m not as agile as I used to be. I’m not 35 anymore. It’s difficult, but there are ways to do shows that don’t require you to be insane now.”

Corey recalled his June comment about having about five years of touring ahead of him, but assured that he does everything possible to take care of himself, even with all the difficulties.

“There are still a handful of things I want to do and that I’m trying to do. I’m being proactive about them,” he says. “But as soon as I run out of ideas, I’m going to find my favorite chair and gain weight. That’s what I’m going to do.”

He went on to comment on the difficulties of life on the road, saying that even "a guy like me" doesn't always have access to a full buffet, "the best food and the best people."

“Sometimes there’s just a soggy sandwich at 12:30 AM and you think, ‘If I eat this, I’m going to throw up,’” she reveals. “There were times when we left the stage, went straight to the airport and caught a flight. We didn’t sleep until seven the next day.”

"For our team it's even worse because they have to arrive, check if everything is alright, and only after that can they take a nap. So it's not relaxed all the time, it's difficult. It's hard work."

Who would take over as vocalist for Slipknot?

first commenting on his possible retirement

“If they wanted to continue and I wanted to retire, I would help them find someone, to be honest. This band has always been greater than the sum of its parts,” he reflected. “It was hard to continue without Paul [ Gray ] . It was hard to continue when we parted ways with Joey [ Jordison ] . It’s always hard when the original nine stop being the original nine, but at the same time, those who stayed are here because they love it and we always take something from that.”
