Corey Taylor responded to rumors that Slipknot would be breaking up after the album The End, So Far , scheduled for release on September 30th.
During the band's performance at the Hills of Rock festival in Bulgaria, the vocalist responded to comments that followed the album announcement earlier this week. With the album title suggesting an ending, fans worried that the group's breakup was closer than they thought, but Taylor reassured them:
“Let me tell you something, some of you may have heard the news that Slipknot has a new album coming out very, very soon. The name of this album is called The End, So Far . And for those apocalyptic motherfuckers who think Slipknot is going to break up, that’s not the case. This simply represents the end of a moment and the beginning of the rest of our lives. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
The vocalist had already commented on the subject during an appearance on the Someone Who Isn't Me in 2016 , saying that he only plans to stop touring and leaving Slipknot when he is no longer physically able to continue. “I’m not as young as I used to be. As much as I want to keep going, I’m tired, man. But I hope to reach 60 years old in Slipknot. For God’s sake.”
Slipknot announced this week that they will release their seventh studio album. The End, So Far will be released on September 30th and its second single has already been released. The first single was released as a standalone single last year.
