Check out the interview.
In an interview on Scott Ian's new radio show, Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor talked about the time he almost became the vocalist for Anthrax, after the 2003 album "We've Come For You All":
"I remember Charlie [Benante, Anthrax drummer] was super excited and sending me a bunch of stuff. I was starting to write the lyrics. And then everything went to hell."
I was literally getting ready to fly to Chicago and meet you guys. And then Brennan [Slipknot's manager] and people from the record label come and say, 'You can't do this.' And I was like, 'What do you mean I can't do this? We have almost a whole album.' I was so pissed, man. I thought, 'What the hell are they talking about?' And they basically forced me, because they wanted the new Slipknot album, and at the time I was the only member who could really get the band together and get things started. It was a really strange time.
But honestly, they weren't going to let me do it. And I remember, before calling you guys, I was sitting in the kitchen feeling defeated, broken, because I was so anxious about everything. And all I could think was, 'I let you guys down.' I thought Charlie had been mad at me for a long time.”.
