In an interview with Revolver magazine, Corey Taylor shared his memory of what it was like to hear Black Sabbath for the first time:

“I was at my grandma’s house and my uncle Alan was listening to Sabbath. Which was crazy because he looked a lot like Cliff Burton when I was a kid, so it was wild. And he put on Paranoid and I remember hearing the riff and being mesmerized. It was just a ‘what is this?’. And it all kind of hit me. I remember listening, listening, and listening and thinking ‘I just want to hear this again and again and again’. Then a few years later I remember finding out that Ozzy wasn’t just Ozzy, but also the singer of Black Sabbath. I was stunned. I thought ‘how do you get to be in two such amazing bands?’. So it was really cool to discover Black Sabbath and then see the whole effect it had on our history, it was incredible. And obviously, meeting them, becoming friends with them and the fact that they recognized me really messes with my head. It’s a crazy thing.”
