Corey Taylor recalls backstage fight with Sid Wilson during DVD recording.

Vocalist comments in podcast about an event that occurred during the recording of 'Disasterpieces' in 2001

Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor mentions the time he “almost killed” the band’s DJ, Sid Wilson . Corey recalls the moment in an interview for the Your Mom’s House Perry Farrell ’s recent feud with Dave Navarro , both from Jane’s Addiction . The incident occurred after a Slipknot show in London in 2001, which was filmed for the DVD Disasterpieces .

The band used body cameras to record the show, and everyone was instructed not to get close to the audience so the cameras wouldn't be stolen. Wilson ignored the instruction during the performance of the song "Spit It Out," and one of the cameras was taken, leaving Taylor furious with his bandmate backstage. The moment of the fight was recorded and can be seen below:

Regarding the incident, Taylor recalls (via Your Mom's House Podcast): “He did exactly what we told him not to do. And I was so pissed. I was also drunk, so that didn't help at all. He didn't understand why we were angry. I was really furious and he said, 'Dude, you need to tell them [the audience] to give the damn camera back.' And I just turned to him. I was like, 'Shut the fuck up.'”

The singer then expresses remorse about how he treated Wilson that night. “It was one of the most evil moments of my life, and I just didn’t give a damn. And to this day I feel bad about it. It’s a very real moment that’s there for everyone to see, and taken out of context, it’s so horrible.”

Taylor then added that the pair managed to reconcile soon after and that they see each other as family. Corey said he called the DJ when he recently burned a large part of his face . He also recalled when Sid called him after the vocalist underwent spinal surgery in 2016. "That's how close we are, anyone who's in a family knows what that's like."
