In an interview with the website Kilpop, Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor shared his predictions for the future of rock, saying there will be a new wave of great frontmen. When asked what the next step for rock is, Corey replied:

"I think there will be a renaissance of great frontmen. Like great showmen. With big personalities, but not in a stupid way. It can be bad when there's too much personality.".

I think there will be a marriage between two factors: when you're on stage performing, everything is geared towards ensuring everyone has a good show. And then backstage, you don't steal credit; you give more credit to the band members, the people who help you. That's why I say it would be a marriage. Kind of more realistic…

Instead of pretending to have a personality when you go on stage, it's just a bigger part of you. And when you leave the stage, you calm down a bit. I think that might be the evolution of the modern frontman.”
