An old professional video of Corey Taylor and the late Paul Gray and Joey Jordison playing without masks has been released by Roadrunner Records Slipknot performance took place in December 2005 at the Nokia Theatre in New York and can be watched at the end of this article.
The performance of the track “(sic)”, from the album Slipknot (1999), was part of the record label's 25th anniversary celebration, in which numerous artists came together to create the album Roadrunner United (2005) as a form of celebration. The album will be re-released, along with the complete show, in different formats on March 10th. Pre-orders are now available .
Scott Ian from Anthrax , Andreas Kisser from Sepultura , and Dino Cazares from Fear Factory also participated in the special. Scott even commented on the opportunity: “It was incredible to be part of an insanely heavy lineup. Wow! And to have had the opportunity to play with Joey and Paul that night, with Corey singing – definitely a Make-A-Wish for me” (via NME ).
Recently, Slipknot decided not to renew their contract with Roadrunner Records . "It's such a different label than when we first signed with them. Once you're in the hands of people who don't care, it's just a damn business. And that's what happened."
“We had to fight for every release we had because the people who now work for Roadrunner think they know what they’re doing, and they don’t. They tried to give us advice, and we were like, ‘What are you talking about? What band do you think we are?’”, Corey Taylor explained to NME .
The End, So Far (2022) was the group's last album with their current record label, but it has been announced that the album recorded in 2008, Look Outside Your Window , is expected to be released in 2023 .
