Corey Taylor has always been a proponent of masks, but previously only for members of Slipknot . However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the vocalist has been urging people to use them . Now, his patience with anti-maskers is officially running out.
In a recent interview for the Let There Be Talk , Taylor comments on the situation in his beloved city of Las Vegas regarding masks. “Vegas is up and down. There are still a bunch of damn idiots without masks in the casinos. And actually, there were some people, tourists, visitors or whatever, who were giving dirty looks to people wearing masks. That was enough for me to just say, 'You know what, man? Go f*ck yourself!'”
“It’s just that, not everything needs to be a political statement. It’s better to just be careful. It’s better to be smart,” he vents. “You want to walk around without a damn mask, go ahead and spin the barrel, and let’s see how many times you can hit it. But these people who are really trying to protect themselves, there’s no reason for you to look down on them, they weren’t saying anything to you. It’s just ridiculous, man.”
“Some people are just minding their own business, and a lot of garbage falls on people's faces and just keeps the wheel turning. Maybe if we all just kept some of this crap to ourselves, maybe this whole mess could calm down,” he concludes.
