Recently, Corey Taylor expressed his feelings regarding Nirvana 's Nevermind , which turns 30 this Friday, the 24th.
The Slipknot described the album as "one of the best pop and hard punk fusion albums of all time" and added: "[ Nevermind ] wasn't as dirty as Bleach , but the songs were so refined at that point. And the production – Butch [ Vig ] did an incredible job on that album. It changed the way people thought about songwriting."
Regarding his personal experience with the album, Taylor said: “The first time I got [the album], I must have spent six months listening to it. I literally sat down and learned to play all the songs on the guitar. I learned to sing all the songs on that damn album.”
Among his favorites, Corey Taylor highlighted “Drain You,” “Lounge Act,” and the somber “Something In The Way,” which he described as “one of those sinister songs that you put on and think, ‘Wow, what was [ Kurt Cobain ] going through when he wrote this?’”
