Corey Taylor talks about sobriety.

Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor has been on the road to sobriety for quite some time, and whenever possible, he tries to send a message to those going through the same situation.

When honored at the Rock to Recovery event, Corey gave a moving speech about the struggle for sobriety and about being at peace with oneself.

A few minutes before the event started, Taylor spoke with the You Rock Foundation and said that “[the event] is a great way to get together with friends and have fun. It’s really cool that they’re promoting the positive side of being sober, especially in the music industry. Many people think that if you like this kind of music [rock], you need to always be partying, drinking and doing drugs. And people only see the side that appears in magazines, they don’t see the reality until it’s too late .

He also says that being the guy who "remembers everything, feels everything, and at the end of the night doesn't need that party to have fun" is being much stronger.
