Corey Taylor posted a video on Wednesday, the 24th, clarifying the reasons that led to the cancellation of his North American tour.

As explained in the video, the Slipknot announced in early January that he would need to cancel all scheduled shows in North America due to physical and mental health reasons. Taylor, however, kept some shows already scheduled in Japan and the Philippines on his agenda, which raised questions from fans.

In a recently released video , singer Corey Taylor explains that he kept those dates because they were only "four shows" and clarified that he will observe how he feels and "live one day at a time." Before addressing this point, he gave more details about the current state of his mental health:

“Over the past year, I’ve had a complete and utter breakdown of boundaries, mental health, ego, entitlement – all nine circles, culminating in a very, very real and very close near relapse. I kind of don’t recognize myself. So, again, I wanted to address this and just tell people that I need time to reset. I need time to start working on my heart and mind and straighten myself out.”

Corey Taylor ended the video thanking fans for their understanding and support, and confided: “I’m just doing what’s best for me right now. It’s a long road and I don’t know what’s at the end, but I’m looking forward to it and I’m grateful for it. I hope you can show me a little patience. Thank you.”
