Taylor puts Freddie Mercury on top

In an interview on WRIF radio, Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor spoke about his favorite metal and rock frontmen, listing several names but concluding that no one comes close to Freddie Mercury of Queen. Here are his comments:

“James Hetfield [Metallica] is definitely up there. He has a really good and unique style. Because he attacks the songs in a very intense way. He's just like, 'Yeah, everybody having fun?' But you also have people like Diamond Dave [David Lee Roth, Van Halen] , he's one of the greats.”

But for me, Freddie Mercury [Queen] , nobody comes close to him. He's the golden frontman in my opinion. More than Bruce, who I love… Dickinson, obviously. Or Bruce Springsteen. Both are equally talented. But Freddie had something that made him so positive, he was electric when he went on stage. It didn't matter if he was sick or tired, when he went on stage he just shone.”
