Corey Taylor lashes out at Kanye West for his "pompous and ridiculous" attitude: "What a fucking idiot"

The Slipknot vocalist criticized the rapper's marketing strategy surrounding his new album.

In an interview with Metro UK, Corey Taylor Kanye West 's decision to release his album Donda 2 only on a specific device he created himself that costs $200.

For those who own the device, four exclusive tracks were released on February 23rd following a performance by the rapper the previous day. Another 12 tracks were added the following day, and the collection was named Miami Version . The device also allows users to create their own remixes of Kanye West's songs.

Corey Taylor, for his part, disliked the initiative and criticized the strategy's lack of accessibility. "You're assuming your audience has access to the same technology you do, but you're a fucking idiot for doing this," said the Slipknot . "Is this serious? It doesn't work like that. Thinking this is a smart thing to do just shows how complicated and out of touch Kanye West really is."

Taylor further added that "when you have that much money and so many people around you telling you exactly what you want to hear, your concept of reality is completely lost."

The Slipknot vocalist also said that the attitude is "pompous and ridiculous" considering the high price due to inflation, and expressed his indignation at the end of the discussion.

“If we [Slipknot] did that, we’d be demonized, but I guarantee people are seeing him as a genius, but holy shit, get your head out of your own ass, put the songs on a CD and give them to people. If you want to do that, do it in a way that people can actually listen to them. It’s a complete joke,” Corey Taylor exclaimed.
