Slipknot's vocalist talks about the drummer's departure.
Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor spoke in more detail about drummer Joey Jordison's departure from the band in December 2013. While not going into detail about the reasons for the dismissal, Taylor made it clear that the members were heading in different directions:
“It’s like the relationship reaches a crossroads and one person is going one way and you’re going another. You can try your hardest to get them to come with you or go with them, but there comes a time when you have to go where it’s best for you. That’s the vaguest explanation. It was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make,” said the vocalist.
Taylor continued: “We’re very happy now, and we hope he is too. He’s simply at a point in his life where we’re not.” The vocalist also revealed that he no longer speaks to his former bandmate: “I haven’t spoken to him. It shows how different we are. It’s not because I don’t love him or miss him. It’s painful .
