Last week in August, Pantera Knotfest lineup . In a recent interview with Trunk Nation , vocalist Corey Taylor expressed his opinion on the band's return.
The Knotfest festival is curated by Slipknot and Corey himself. Since it was announced, Pantera's tour has divided opinions on the internet – some of them regarding the participation of Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante in place of the late Abbott .
Regarding the matter, Corey Taylor commented: “I know everyone in the current Pantera lineup; and I knew everyone in the previous lineup, so it’s interesting. I know there’s a lot of debate about it. All I’ll say is that I’m very excited to see these songs played live. I’m excited to see them played with respect.”
“Regardless of whether online fans admit it or not, we’re talking about two guys [Charlie and Zakk] who not only knew the brothers years ago, but knew them even before Pantera was anything. They were friends with the guys when Pantera was still playing in clubs, and they hung out when their respective bands played in Dallas. So, when Pantera becomes huge, they’re going on tour with friends.”
