Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor, who recently warned Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington to appreciate fans of his past work, has now defended the musician.

Taylor had criticized Bennington after the Linkin Park member said that people need to get over his debut album, Hybrid Theory , released in 2000. Linkin Park has received harsh criticism for the sound of their new, pop-oriented work.

Now, in an interview with Alternative Press, Corey Taylor defended the Nu Metal band:

"Look, he's wrong in the way he spoke, but look at Chester. He's honoring his music instead of hiding behind rhetoric for fear of not making money. Linkin Park, at least, is trying to do something different. You may not like it, but who cares?"

There are people out there who like it and they have the courage to do it. I understand why the reaction to what he said was that way, but he has a point. Screw you if you don't like the music. People are so afraid to take risks, and the only way to win is by taking risks.”.
