In an interview with a Las Vegas newspaper, Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor spoke about the incident that occurred in July, when during a band concert the musician threw a fan's cell phone to the ground in the front row. Taylor defends his actions. Check out his statement:
"You see people walking down the street and they can't take their faces off their stupid cell phones to cross the street.".
I like it when people are completely immersed in their little technological bubble, and then reality comes along and punches them in the face.
Opinion: Can bands kick fans out of concerts?
I don't mind people taking photos. I don't even mind those filming videos. I like it because you're still engaged in the show.
A lot of people have the wrong idea; they think that if I see someone on their phone I'm going to get angry and kill them. I'm not trying to do that at all.
But if I see someone who obviously isn't interested, you have to nudge them to get their attention. Sometimes that means punching the phone out of their hand.”.
