Corey Taylor released his new solo single “Beyond” this Tuesday, the 16th. The singer also announced the dates for his solo tour in the United States to promote his second studio album, CMFT2 , which will be released later this year.
Regarding “Beyond,” Corey Taylor comments: “Initially, I wrote [“Beyond”] to be an aggressive romantic song, but I’m also looking at it now as a kind of song to call people. To unite the masses and tell them that I want my music to take them beyond what they think about me. Maybe they have the wrong idea about me.”
To release his second solo album, Corey Taylor signed a global deal with BMG . During the recording of the album, he worked with producer Jay Ruston , who has previously worked with Steel Panther , Anthrax , and others.
According to Taylor, CMFT2 will be "the best rock album of this year and next," and fans can expect a mix of everything he's ever done, whether in his solo project or with Slipknot and Stone Sour .
