Conquer Divide has returned after five years with a new single titled “Chemicals.” To celebrate the release, the group also released the music video for the song.
“Chemicals” marks the band’s first new song since the release of their self-titled debut album. In 2018, Conquer Divide went on hiatus without announcing a break, but the fans’ hopes encouraged them to return.
“We know everyone was dying to know what we were doing, and the short answer is that we just wanted a break to focus on our personal lives,” guitarist Kristen Sturgis told Revolver . “We’ve had a lot of time to reflect and discuss where we want to go with our music.”
The vocalist explains that "Chemicals" is about addiction from the artist's point of view and presents the disregard many have when dealing with colleagues and acquaintances who suffer from the problem. She says the music video was created to show an artist at the peak of their success, but who hides their emotions and problems inside.
It is not yet known if "Chemicals" will be part of a future studio album by the band. Watch the video below.
