Dance of Death

The British band's thirteenth studio album , Dance of Death , features eleven songs and marks their second album with a six-member lineup. Inspired by the film "The Seventh Seal" and drawing from the allegory of the Danse Macavre, relating to the universality of death, the project celebrates the first and only studio track co-written by drummer Nicko McBrain , "New Frontier," inspired by cloning and genetic engineering. Nicko also debuted the double bass drum pedal on "Face In The Sand," the first song in this format. The album also includes "Montségur," with lyrics based on the massacre of the Cathars at Montségur Castle in 1244, "Paschendale," inspired by the Battle of Passchendaele during World War I, and "Journeyman," the band's first and only completely acoustic track.

A Matter of Life and Death

A Matter Of Life And Death is the band's fourteenth studio album, the third project recorded with the current lineup. Two singles preceded the project's release, "The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg" and "Different World." At the time, the band denied that they were making a concept album, but most of the tracks deal with themes such as war and religion, especially "Brighter Than A Thousand Suns," inspired by the Manhattan Project, with the title taken from a quote from the Bhagavad Gita, used by J. Robert Oppenheimer shortly after the detonation of the first atomic bomb. In addition, the album includes "The Pilgrim," based on the Mayflower voyage, and "The Longest Day," which sings about D-Day.

The Final Frontier

The Final Frontier , received numerous favorable reviews and reached the top of the music charts in 28 countries. It is the band's fourth release to reach number one on the UK charts, following "The Number of the Beast" (1982), "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" (1988), and "Fear of the Dark" (1992). Furthermore, "The Final Frontier" reached number four in the United States, their highest ranking on the Billboard 200. Finally, the project earned the band a Grammy Award in the "Best Metal Performance" category for the song "El Dorado".

The Book of Souls

The Book Of Souls is the sixteenth studio album by the heavy metal band and concludes their cycle of new releases in physical format. It is the band's fifth debut to reach number one on the UK music charts, following “The Number of the Beast” (1982), “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son” (1988), “Fear Of The Dark” (1992) and “The Final Frontier” (2010).
