Coachella announces easing of COVID-19 safety measures

As an alternative to vaccination certificates, the festival will also accept negative tests performed before the event

Goldenvoice , the promoter of the famous American music festival Coachella , announced on Tuesday, the 12th, a change in safety measures regarding COVID-19 .

Until now, the event's policies required those attending the festival in April 2022 to present proof of complete vaccination, but due to the "low transmission rate" of the virus, Goldenvoice has decided that only the presentation of a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours prior to the event is sufficient.

“After seeing firsthand the low transmission rate and successful implementation of safety protocols at our festivals recently, as well as the growth in the vaccination rate of eligible Americans, we feel confident in updating our Coachella policy to allow for a negative COVID test taken 72 hours before the event or proof of full vaccination,” Coachella wrote on its official website and social media.

According to the website, each Goldenvoice festival will have its own security policies. Coachella takes place in Indio, California, in the United States, during the weekends of April 15-17 and April 22-24 in 2022.
