Clutch releases first single from new album; listen to “How To Shake Hands”

The track is part of the band's new studio album, which will be released in September

The American band Clutch has released the first single from their new studio album, Book of Bad Decisions . “How To Shake Hands” was inspired by the song “John Lee Hooker For President” by guitarist Ry Cooder , in which he portrays Hooker delivering a victory speech should he become president.

According to the website Rock Sins , the track was shelved when Clutch vocalist Neil Fallon said it couldn't do justice to Cooder's work. Eventually, Fallon decided he could use his own style on the song, which eventually became "How To Shake Hands".

The successor to Psychic Warfare (2015) will be released on September 7th by Weathermaker Music, the label founded by the band, and is already available for pre-order . “For me, the album title shows that each track is a chapter in this book of bad decisions,” Fallon said, explaining the name of the new work.
